Otago Canyons Boat Trip

We have arranged for the same company that operates the Monarch used on the convention field trips to run a day trip with their other vessel the Vivienne J for attendees on the Monday following the convention. The plan is to take the Vivienne J out past Cape Saunders to the deeper waters and offshore canyons to look for seabirds and other wildlife that frequent these rich feeding grounds. The trips are for photographers, birdwatchers and nature lovers. Each previous trip has seen 20 or more species of sea-birds, with some very interesting sightings and behaviour. Conditions are similar to Kaikoura but much less known about.

Date: Monday 23rd April 2018
Departs: Careys Bay pontoon 8:00am
Returns: Careys Bay pontoon 3:00pm
Cost: $160 per person
Passengers must provide their own food and drink.
Complimentary tea & coffee will be available.

This trip is only for people attending the convention. Places will be allocated in the order of completed registrations and limited to 12 people.
If you would like to go on this trip select the Otago Canyons Boat Trip in the optional workshops section of the registration form or email natcon2018registrar@gmail.com if you have already registered. Payment for this trip will be organised separately from the convention.
