Presentation: Camera on a hot tin roof: William Meluish’s panorama of 1865 Dunedin.
William Meluish’s photographic record of early Dunedin is invaluable to our understanding of how the city developed. His panorama of 1865 is used here to explore Dunedin, in and out of shot, the year it became a city. This presentation focuses on the people, businesses, buildings, services, utilities and engineering that helped shape the city we know today.
